How Did I Prep My Hair for Heat Styling?
To prepare my hair for long-lasting volume, I washed it with Mermade Styling Shampoo to really cleanse it of any product build-up and prep it for heat styling.
Once washed, I applied a texturing mousse into my hair while it was damp. This just helps to ensure there is some hold in the hair so that curls and volume don't slip. My Process: How to Use Mermade Digital Hot Rollers
Starting with the middle section, I placed a hot roller at the ends and rolled back towards the scalp — in an upward roll — before securing with the clips provided.
The next step was to repeat this on the sides of my hair. In all, I used all eight digital hot rollers across each section.
Expert Tip: Let the hair and rollers cool to the touch, which takes around 15 minutes (but can be left in up to 30), to make sure the volume has properly set before they're removed.
One feature I loved was temperature control. Whether your hair responds best to low or high heat, advanced heat technology ensures consistent heat distribution throughout the styling process.
What Volume and Bounce Results Did I Get?
Once I take out the Mermade hot rollers — removing the clip and rolling gently out of the hair — I use my favourite boar bristle brush to brush out the curl, so the volume is still full and bouncier rather than curly.

A flexible-hold hairspray is the last step prior to brushing the style out a little more for fuller volume. I spray this evenly across my style.

What Could Be Better?
I have heaps of hair, so the fact that there are only eight hot rollers in the kit meant that I had to use them in two parts — first in the front section of my hair, and once these had cooled and been removed, I moved to the back half of my hair.
But — big news — there's also a new 16-piece set available, the Mermade Digital Hot Rollers Max, so that will be my next investment.
The only other thing is that the clip that secures each roller felt like it needed to be slightly bigger to hold my hair thickness and not drop out. Although it stood fast, it just sometimes felt like it could be stronger. That said, the more I got the knack of using the Mermade Digital Hot Rollers, the better I got at securing the clips in place.

To put it simply, I was impressed. I got the volume and super bouncy curl I was looking for, and the process was incredibly easy, tidy, and simple.
